Leveling kit or lift kit? Most trucks sit lower in the front from the factory. A leveling kit raises just the front, usually 1.5 to 2.5 inches, to even out the stance and make room for a slightly bigger tire. A lift kit raises the whole vehicle for larger tires and more ground clearance, and bigger lifts often need longer shocks, control arms or driveline changes to keep the geometry right. Plan your lift and tire size together.

Shocks and load support. Fresh shocks are the most noticeable ride upgrade on a worn vehicle, and monotube designs from brands like Bilstein and FOX stay consistent on long, rough roads. If you tow or haul, helper springs or air bags keep the truck level under load. For cars, lowering springs and coilovers lower the center of gravity for flatter cornering, and adjustable control arms let you correct alignment after the drop.
