A 395/65R20 stands about 40.2 inches tall and 15.6 inches wide, the metric version of a 40x15.50R20. This is big tire territory: maximum ground clearance, a huge footprint and the kind of presence that stops traffic. It is built for heavily lifted trucks and dedicated off road rigs where a 37 just is not enough.

Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 395/65R20
The Trail Grappler is a true mud-terrain with deep voids and heavy shoulder lugs that clean out in mud and claw over rock. Nitto tuned it to ride quieter than a traditional mud tire, so the drive to the trailhead stays tolerable. Choose it if you spend serious time off pavement. This size carries a 128 load index.

The Mud Grappler is Nitto's most aggressive extreme mud-terrain. Massive tread blocks and wide voids throw mud and dig for traction where other tires give up. It is louder on the highway than the other Grapplers, so it suits a dedicated off road rig or anyone who lives in the mud. This size carries a 130 load index.

A big lift is required. A 40 inch tire usually needs a 6 inch or larger lift on a full size truck, plus trimming. Every build is different, so measure before you order.
Plan for the whole drivetrain. Tires this size put real stress on steering, brakes and axles. Re-gearing is strongly recommended, and upgraded steering components and brakes are worth considering.
Wheel width. The 15.6 inch section width calls for a wide wheel, typically 20x10 to 20x12. Confirm your wheel width is approved for the tire.
