The Airaid 451-265 MXP cold air intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox on 2011-2014 Mustang 3.7L V6 models with a sealed, roto-molded airbox and a smooth, high flow intake tube. It uses Airaid's SynthaMax dry red filter, so there is no oil to manage, and it bolts in without a tune.
The factory intake on the 3.7L Mustang is built to be quiet and cheap, not to move air. The Airaid MXP system swaps the stock airbox and tubing for a one piece roto-molded airbox that seals against the hood and pulls cooler outside air instead of hot underhood air.
Inside the box is a SynthaMax dry red filter. The synthetic media flows well, filters fine dust, and comes clean with a wash and dry, with no filter oil to foul your mass air sensor. Air then runs through a cross-linked polyethylene intake tube with a built-in velocity stack. Airaid sized the tube to keep the mass air flow reading correct, so the engine stays on its factory calibration with no tune required.
Installation takes common hand tools and about an hour. The kit includes the airbox, filter, intake tube, velocity stack and all mounting hardware, and it is backed by Airaid's no hassle lifetime warranty.
